Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel for piano solo
There are many piano arrangements of this well-known and hugely popular piece of classical music, however this arrangement is actually a transcription for solo piano, based entirely on the composer's original handwritten manuscript. The music was written for three violins and basso continuo (cello and harpsichord accompaniment), which inevitably gives the pianist's fingers plenty of work to do (not unlike a Bach fugue in places) but the end result is very effective. Advanced pianists will have no problem adding their own personal fingering.
